With temperatures ranging between 70 F and 80 F, Tenerfie is a popular year round destination. April through to the end of August are the driest months with virtually no rainfall. Like the other canary islands, Tenerife is volcanic and has only a few natural beaches of black sand. Tourism has dictated huge investment in high quality man made beaches, and there are many to choose from, most being situated near the major resorts. Most have good access, excellent facilities and meeyt stringent European standards of cleanliness. Great places for sun worshippers include San Juan in west Tenerife, Playa de las Americas and Los Christianos in the south of the island. Surfers usually head to south Tenerife and the beaches of Conquistador and Fatenia, but Puerto Del la Cruz in the north is well worth a visit. Divers are well catered for at Playa San Juan in the west and La Caletta in southern Tenerife.
